The guesthouse "Au Nid de Cigogne" offers accommodation in the heart of Alsace, a 20 minutes' walk from the famous town of Riquewihr. It is located in the peaceful village of Zellenberg, off the main road, at the top of a hill, surrounded by vineyards and overlooking the Vosges Mountains.
It has a total of 4 rooms, located in a historic 13th century house with a defensive tower from 1315, at the top of which, for decades, storks have regularly nested, often with their babies.
All rooms have a double king-size bed and a bathroom with shower, WC and electric dryer ladder. Rooms bear the names of the noble families important for this region:
The Rappolstein room is named after the owners of three castles built near Zellenberg above Ribeauvillé. It is the only room here with a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, refrigerator and large dining table.
Two rooms are located in a recently renovated attic with preserved original beams; the other two are located on the second floor of the house, accessible by a historic wooden spiral staircase.
Therefore, the accommodation is not suitable for people with reduced mobility and families with small children.
Pets are not allowed
The dining room "Hohenstaufen" is available to all customers on the ground floor.
In summer it is possible to use a garden with a covered pergola and a barbecue. From the garden you can also observe the storks on the nest above you, bask under the banana tree, listen to the bells of nearby standing church of Saint Ulrich. Or you can enjoy a small garden pond with goldfish or relax in warm weather in the shade of a majestic ginkgo tree.
